Washington University Children's Eye Center is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable full-time certified orthoptist to join our pediatric eye care family. As world leaders in patient care, teaching and research, we strive to touch lives and preserve and restore vision through innovation and compassionate service. This position will be working closely with our renowned faculty, residents, fellows, medical students, and staff members. Washington University and St. Louis Children’s Hospital have three pediatric eye centers across the St. Louis Metropolitan area. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
     o Receives and examines patients for strabismus evaluations.
     o Informs parents of the patient’s condition and explains the course of treatment.
     o Assists the teaching of strabismus evaluations to Residents.
     o Assists the teaching of Orthoptic treatment to Residents.
     o Initiates and collaborates in the ongoing clinical research, data collection, and evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications
     o Able to understand disorders of eye muscles and administer therapy.

Required Qualifications
     o Bachelor’s degree and certification as an Orthoptist.
