Vanderbilt Eye Institute, Nashville, TN

The Vanderbilt Eye center is seeking a full time Certified Orthoptist to join our academic department. The Certified Orthoptist will perform a broad range of duties including evaluating and treating children and adults with ocular motility disorders. 

The successful candidate will be working alongside 7 pediatric ophthalmologists, 3 pediatric optometrists and 7 certified orthoptists. We are an academic center, and our orthoptists are actively involved in the training of our orthoptic students, medical students, residents, and fellows. We have an accredited orthoptic training program and take up to 2 students each year.

Vanderbilt Eye Institute is a large multi-specialty ophthalmology department that includes specialists in cornea, glaucoma, uveitis, retina, neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastic who provide support for the care of pediatric patients and adult strabismus patients.

The Tennessee Lions Eye Clinic is located within the Vanderbilt Eye Institute and across the street from the Monroe Carrol Children’s Hospital. Currently there are 4 satellite pediatric ophthalmology clinics that the orthoptist may work at.

Vanderbilt is located in Nashville, TN. Nashville is the home to country music. It also has professional football, hockey, and soccer teams along with triple A baseball. It has a great food scene and has some of the best southern restaurants.

Qualifications- Certification in an Accredited Orthoptic program.
