AACO National Meeting, San Fransisco

  • Presenters: a link will be provided to allow you to upload your talk prior to the meeting. Deadline for final presentations is October 30, 2023.   


Presentation Formats
Instruction Course: A 1 hour course presented in-person on Saturday November 4, 2023 during the AACO National Meeting in San Francisco. It can be on a topic of your choice. Please review the AOC syllabus for core vs non-core topics. 

Scientific Paper: A 15 minute scientific presentation to be presented in-person on Monday November 6, 2023 during the scientific session at the AACO National Meeting in San Francisco. This presentation can be a scientific study or case presentation. 

Student Presentation: A 15 minute presentation, presented in-person by an Orthoptic student currently enrolled in an AOC or COC accredited Orthoptic Fellowship Program. Presentations will be given on Sunday morning, November 5, 2023 during the AACO National Meeting in San Francisco. 

Virtual Presentation: A 15 or 30 minute presentation not scheduled for live presentation. Virtual presentations are recorded voice-over slides of individual presentations.  Virtual presentations will be added to the AACO's Online Learning Center as part of the National Meeting package.  Each individual instructor records their own presentation for upload. The mp4, m4v or mov is uploaded for On Demand viewing. Abstracts accepted for virtual presentation are not expected to attend the National Meeting.

  • All abstracts for 1 hour instruction courses, virtual presentations, 15 minute scientific presentations and student presentations must be submitted online through our abstract submission form.  Abstracts will not be considered if submitted in any other manner.
  • Please complete all of the required fields on the online form, and attach the required  JCAHPO bio/disclosure form  for all presenters.   Your submission will not be considered until all of the required documents are received.
  • If you have a co-presenter, enter the name(s) in the space provided on the form.  (Note - each presenter must submit a JCAHPO bio/disclosure form.)
  • If you are proposing a panel discussion, enter all of the names of the panelists.  The presenting author should be the panel leader/moderator.  (Note - all panelists must submit a JCAHPO bio/disclosure form).
  • If you are submitting JCAHPO forms for multiple co-presenters or panel members, please combine them into one file to upload; do not upload multiple files.

  • Be sure to review the JCAHPO "code of conduct" requirements on page 2 of the form.  All speakers are expected to adhere to these standards.
  • IMPORTANT - When you save the JCAHPO form after completing it, be sure to include your own name in the filename and upload with your submission form.

 Terms and Conditions for Participation in AACO Events

It is the intent of the American Association of Certified Orthoptists (“AACO” or “the Association”) that all attendees at sponsored conferences and events be able to participate in an environment of respect and fairness. Further, the AACO strives to adhere to all requirements which pertain to continuing education accreditation, as well as applicable regulations and laws. 

All participants in the AACO 2023 National Meeting must acknowledge the terms and conditions for participants in AACO conferences and events and consent to video/audio recording of their participation in the program. This must be completed by each co-presenter and panel member by May 1st for your abstract to be considered.   Please use the link below to acknowledge the terms and conditions and submit consent for video recording.
